How to run rapidfire and offline mode inside python

Dear all,
I have been trying to run rapidfire (using a queue) together with the
offline mode, but the computations get stuck. Could some please tell me how
to do this in a python script?

Best,

Felipe

Hi Felipe

The offline tutorial shows you how to submit jobs in a rapidfire way, i.e. qlaunch rapidfire:

https://pythonhosted.org/FireWorks/offline_tutorial.html

However, within each submitted job, the offline mode only supports single shot. That is because the qlaunch rapidfire only writes a single FW.json file inside each job directory, and therefore can only run a single job.

None of the core FWS teams uses the offline mode, so features are not developed very rapidly for this mode. It is much better if you can use the standard FWS w/o the offline mode, e.g. by coordinating with your sysadmin to open whatever ports are needed.

Best,

Anubhav
